Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 27, 2026 • Version 1.0

1. Introduction & Overview

At Kubun Labs, we prioritize your privacy and data transparency. Kubun Translate is designed as a privacy-conscious, real-time voice-to-voice translation application. This Privacy Policy details how voice audio, text transcripts, and API interactions are handled when you use the app.

Our core commitment is that we do not collect, store, or sell personal identifiers or persistent voice recordings on our servers. Audio processing occurs strictly on an ephemeral basis to deliver real-time translation during active conversation sessions.

2. Data Processing & Cloud Service Providers

To provide instantaneous speech-to-text, neural translation, and natural voice synthesis, spoken audio and temporary transcript payloads pass securely through our Cloudflare Worker API edge proxy to specified cloud AI service providers.

Data flows through the following specialized sub-processors:

3. Local Device Storage

Conversation logs, language preferences, and audio settings are stored exclusively on your device within an encrypted local Room Database.

4. Android Device Permissions

Kubun Translate requests only the strictly necessary runtime permissions required for operational function:

The app does not request or require access to your device location, contacts, media gallery, or external storage.

5. Data Security & Ephemeral Retention

All network communication between the Android application, Cloudflare Worker proxy, and third-party AI processing APIs uses HTTPS with mandatory Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3).

Voice audio snippets sent to cloud providers are held in transient RAM only for the milliseconds required to return speech results and are deleted immediately thereafter.
